My daughter gets braces

On Wednesday, May 6th "B" had her braces put on her teeth. Before leaving we decided to take some goofy shots of her "old" smile.

She is 12 in these pictures. She has 3 retained baby teeth which we're keeping.

Cross bite and rotation of teeth

She was very cooperative even though she was a little nervous. Before arriving at the orthodontist office she had to take a pill to dry up her saliva. This was to help keep her mouth drier for a more secure bond on the brackets.

Here she is with Amy, her assistant, getting ready to start

The whole process took about an hour and twenty minutes. She was a real trooper, but she did get a little emotional at the very end.

She is well supplied with toothbrushes, water picks, floss threaders, and all kinds of dental paraphernalia to help her keep her teeth pearly white and pristine clean over the next 18-24 months. I can hardly wait to see the final results!
